Let’s talk the benefits of red light therapy.
Red and near infrared light have fantastic benefits for our bodies but for the skin they are anti-inflammatory and anti-aging. Red light was first used by NASA in space to grow potatoes as a side note. And while we’re born with an abundance of collagen in our skin, the body's production of collagen slows in our mid-to-late 20's and continues to decrease dramatically after age 30. From there, the collagen levels in our skin begin to drop by 1-2% each year.
Red light and NIR in particular are beneficial because they activate various cell processes that benefit the skin - from stimulating the mitochondria to producing more ATP to creating some metabolic stress that results in stronger defenses. It can even activate our stem cells for better wound healing.
To get the benefits the correct wavelengths are needed. For red light, you want an output of 620 to 670 nm where 830 to 850 nm is common for NIR.
These are the panels that I personally recommend because they have the correct wavelength specifications and they are an affordable option over these extremely expensive masks on the market. They are also great multi-taskers that can be used anywhere on the body like the joints, eyes and brain (yes it can penetrate to the brain) where the masks do not multi-task for those areas. Did I mention they are also great for hair regrowth?
MitoRed panels also require much less time making it easier to comply with treatments.
I have found great success with the MitoRed Min (not the portable device) over the last 10 months. My complexion is less red, it’s more even and I’m seeing a great reduction in fine lines and wrinkles. You only need 5 minutes at a distance of 18” four to five nights a week to get massive benefits.
